Positive and Negative Charges Collide

Being a Southern California girl, thunderstorms are a novelty to me. So at 11pm when the wind began to whip and the sky started to rumble, I took out my camera and started taking pictures. When they say "lightning never strikes twice in the same place" they mean it. I probably took over 200 photos to get these two shots from our livingroom window. Wish you could see it in person. It's pretty awesome, and the show continues behind me as I write this post.

You know, there was just an awesome burst behind me I could see reflected in my computer screen. Too bad my camera battery died.
