Hong Kong Children's Science Museum

Today’s outing was to the Hong Kong Science Museum. We took the ferry over to Kowloon and walked about a ½ mile to the museum. Its right next door to the Hong Kong History Museum we visited last week.

The place was very busy, but thankfully not full like the last time we tried to visit. The girls said it was very similar to the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. It’s a four story building so we began on the ground floor and decided to work our way up. There were exhibits on sound and vision, how your brain processes information, electricity, meteorology and much more. So much more that we only saw about a third of the place. We’ll probably go back sometime next week.

On the way back home, we stopped into this tiny little dress shop near the ferry landing. We were looking for a dress for Maggie. She’s been dying to get traditional Chinese clothes since we’ve been here. The store owner got up and slipped me into a beautiful Chinese jacket. Boy was she was fast! It was very nice, and it fit well, but we were there for Maggie. The owner showed her a pretty little mint green top and capri set. I talked her down a bit on the price (you are expected to bargain) so Maggie has her traditional Chinese outfit.
